The Skills Partnership fully supports the National Apprenticeship Service’s 100 Apprentices in 100 days campaigns that are being launched across the country.

A large number of local areas are currently being targeted as part of a national campaign to encourage employers to engage new Apprentices.

Employers who are looking to engage staff are encouraged to look at the advantages of engaging an Apprentice. Individuals engaged as Apprentices need to be following a recognised Apprenticeship programme of study that can be delivered in the work-place by The Skills Partnership.

We offer a wide range of programmes including:

  • Health and Fitness
  • Cleaning and Facilities Management
  • Customer Service
  • Retail
  • Creative (Music Industry, Live Events and Promotion)
  • Hospitality
  • Team Leading and Management
  • Warehousing and Logistics

Employers benefit by having:

  • Members of staff that will be fully trained to achieve a nationally recognised set of qualifications
  • Members of staff who you will be able to develop organically in line with how your specific organisation operates
  • Access to government subsidies to provide all required training to your Apprentices
  • The opportunity to operate using the Apprenticeship payment model that ranges from a minimum of £2.50 per hour and upwards

We welcome your feedback on this opportunity and you can contact us using the details provided on this site. We will discuss your business requirements with you and visit your site to make arrangements should you decide you would like to pursue the Apprentice opportunity.

TSP supports safeguarding and we’d like to hear the views of the employers and learners that we work with on the subject. We have devised a short survey that can be completed by clicking here.  You will have the chance to be entered into our ipod Touch Draw, where we have an ipod Touch to award to one lucky winner who will be selected at random at the end of November.
Education providers of post-16 learning and skills, such as TSP, have responsibilities to ensure the safety of children, young people and adults who are vulnerable. A vulnerable adult is defined as a person who may need care services because of a disability, mental health problem, age or illness, or someone who may be unable to protect him or herself against significant harm or exploitation.
Education and training providers need to be prepared to deal with all aspects of creating a safer environment for all. The Skills Partnership does this in a number of ways: by checking the employers it works with have policies and procedures on bullying, harassment, discrimination and safeguarding; by ensuring all front-line TSP staff have had a CRB check, by training our tutors so they know what to do should an incident arise and by developing learners’ awareness
and understanding of the issues through a personal development programme.
We would like you to share your views with us by completing our Safeguarding Survey.
We look forward to hearing from you and wish all survey respondents the best of luck with the ipod Touch draw!

There are currently a number of schemes available to companies who are looking to employ a young person and provide them with qualifications leading to a full Apprenticeship. One current example is a grant designed to assist companies who would otherwise not be able to afford to employ an apprentice. It does this by providing financial support directly to the company to help make this a viable option.

National guidance on paying apprentices currently states that they should receive at least £95 per week for working in a full time position. TSP can work with you to establish if you are eligible to receive help to recruit a young person to work with you and undertake a qualification while they work.

TSP has worked closely with the National Apprenticeship Service during March to enable employers who needed some assistance in order to take on 16 and 17 year old Apprentices to do so.

TSP was able to arrange for a Golden Handshake worth £2,500, provided by the National Apprenticeship Service, to be assigned to a number of small and medium sized employers during March for each Apprentice that was started on a programme.

Identifying incentive schemes and other funding opportunities is part of value added employer support service that The Skills Partnership provides to its employer partners. Contact us via the website today to find out how TSP could be helping your business.

As an approved national training provider, The Skills Partnership is able to provide a wealth of complementary services to its employers including help to recruit staff onto Apprenticeship programmes. This is undertaken through the Apprenticeship vacancies, the official online recruitment system for Apprenticeships in England,  managed by the National Apprenticeship Service. This online system enables quality vacancies from employers to be viewed and applied for nationally by thousands of candidates that register onto our system, making it easy for you to attract and recruit apprentices.

Chris Williamson, Director of Media Kube Productions Ltd was very pleased with how the service helped his company to engage new Apprentices recently, “The candidates were of a very high caliber and we were provided with all the application information we needed, because we were able to specify it when we placed our vacancies.”
Apprenticeship vacancies lets candidates search for your vacancies using selected criteria such as geography, occupation, job role and keywords, in addition they can save their favourite searches. The system can be managed by learning providers on your behalf or by you and is designed to manage the recruitment process end to end through to successful appointment of your apprentice.
