The Skills Partnership takes its responsibilities for Health, Safety & Safeguarding very seriously. Employers and learners who work with us will notice the emphasis that is placed on comprehensive risk assessment and safe operating procedures. A summary of our policies are shown here.
Health & Safety:
Policy statement
To provide adequate control of the Health & Safety risks arising from our work activities, to consult with our employees, learners and other stakeholders on matters affecting their Health & Safety. The Skills Partnership will endeavour to ensure all employees and participants are competent to do their tasks and to give them adequate training, thus preventing accidents and cases of work-related ill health. We will strive to maintain safe and healthy working conditions by reviewing this policy as necessary at regular intervals.
Objectives
- To undertake action to identify and respond to current and future needs of staff, learners and all participants
- To evidence comprehensive health & safety arrangements
- To engage staff, learners and participants through communication and review of objectives and targets
- To maintain a structured approach to future H&S development
Review & Evaluation
The Health & Safety Policy will be reviewed on an on-going basis through:
- Senior Management Team meetings
- Quality Management Team meetings
- H&S monitoring activity carried out by IV
- H&S action plans and/or risk assessments
Evaluation of how the Health & Safety Objectives have been met on an ongoing basis will be identified through:
- Examination of H&S checks carried out by, and on behalf of, staff and learners
- External Inspections Reports (including ALI and LSC inspections)
- Evaluation (Participants/Staff/Learners)
- Self Assessment
An annual review of the Health & Safety Policy will be undertaken by the Senior Management Team and any appropriate action identified will be recorded, actioned and communicated as appropriate.
Safeguarding:
1.0 General policy statement
1.1 The Skills Partnership believes children, young people and vulnerable adults have rights as individuals and should be treated with respect.
1.2 We will strive to provide a safe environment for all children, young people and vulnerable adults while they are studying with us visiting any of our centres or participating in activities for which we have a responsibility.
1.3 The Safeguarding Code is based on the following principles:
1.3.1 The welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults is of primary concern
1.3.2 All children, young people and vulnerable adults, whatever their age, culture, disability, gender, language, racial origin, socio-economic status, religious belief and/or sexual identity will have their relevant welfare needs met and be protected from abuse
1.3.3 It is everyone’s responsibility to report concerns about neglect or abuse to the TSP designated Safeguarding Officer. It is the responsibility of TSP – and the police, Social Services Departments and other statutory agencies where appropriate – to conduct an investigation into such matters.
1.3.4 All incidents of alleged poor practice, misconduct or abuse will be taken seriously and responded to swiftly and appropriately
1.3.5 All personal data will be processed in accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998.
